OUR STORY

The Reclaimed

Thin Brick Story

Opened in 1946 as a concrete block plant by our great grandfather J.D. and now operating under the 4th generation of Pittman's, our family has seen many changes throughout the masonry manufacturing industry.

In our most recent endeavor, we decided to chase our passion for reclaimed building materials. The Pittman family has been involved in salvaging brick and wood for decades. We source brick from turn-of-the-twentieth-century industrial sites like textile mills, cotton presses, leather factories, etc. The reclaimed brick are then repurposed for new constructions projects. By repurposing these old beautiful brick we have saved many millions from going into landfills.

Over time we began to notice a desire from many of our clients to use old brick for floor and accent wall applications which required a thinner product. Reclaimed Thin-Bricks was born!

To meet this expanding demand, we sold our block plant machinery to a facility in Jamaica, and rebuilt our old block plant into a thin brick plant equipped with state-of-the-art machinery.
